1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using the Josie mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Josie is a mobile application designed to provide training, education, and resources for aspiring and current Virtual Assistants. Our services include:
- 20-day structured learning program with daily lessons
- Educational courses on Virtual Assistant skills and tools
- AI-powered chat assistance for VA-related questions
- Professional tools including rate calculator, invoice template, and cover letter generator
- Audio lessons and podcast content
- VA tips and motivational content
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
To access premium features, you must create an account using Google authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
3.2 Account Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and complete information during registration
- Maintain the security of your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
4. Subscription and Payment
4.1 Premium Access and In-App Purchases
Josie offers premium features through monthly auto-renewing subscriptions ("Premium Access"). By purchasing a subscription, you gain access to:
- Complete 20-Day VA Training Program (all lessons and materials)
- Unlimited access to all mini courses
- High-usage AI chat with Josie (unlimited messages)
- All professional VA tools (rate calculator, invoice generator, cover letter builder)
- Exclusive audio content and podcasts
- Progress tracking and certificates
4.2 Subscription Plans
Monthly Subscription:
- Price: ₱299/month (or equivalent in your local currency)
- Billing cycle: Monthly, starting from the date of purchase
- Access: Immediate and continuous while subscription is active
4.3 Payment Processing
All in-app purchases and subscriptions are processed securely through:
- iOS Users: Apple App Store In-App Purchase system
- Android Users: Google Play Store Billing system
- Subscription Platform: RevenueCat (for subscription management and verification)
Payment will be charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
4.4 Auto-Renewal Terms
IMPORTANT - Please Read Carefully:
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period
- The renewal charge will be at the same price as the original subscription unless the price has changed (with 30 days advance notice)
- Auto-renewal can be turned off at any time by going to your Account Settings after purchase
4.5 Managing Your Subscription
To Cancel or Manage Your Subscription:
For iOS (iPhone/iPad):
- Open Settings app on your device
- Tap your name at the top
- Tap "Subscriptions"
- Find "Josie" and tap it
- Tap "Cancel Subscription" or modify settings
For Android:
- Open Google Play Store
- Tap Menu > Subscriptions
- Select "Josie"
- Tap "Cancel Subscription"
When Cancellation Takes Effect:
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
- You will retain access to premium features until the subscription expires
- No partial refunds for the unused portion of a billing period
4.6 Free Trial (If Offered)
If we offer a free trial period:
- The trial period will be clearly stated at sign-up
- You will not be charged during the trial period
- If you don't cancel before the trial ends, you will be automatically charged for the subscription
- Cancel anytime during the trial to avoid charges
4.7 Price Changes
- We reserve the right to modify subscription prices
- You will receive at least 30 days advance notice of any price increase
- Price changes will apply to your next renewal after the notice period
- You may cancel before the new price takes effect
4.8 Refund Policy
- All purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by law
- No refunds or credits for partial subscription periods
- For refund requests, contact Apple App Store or Google Play Store support directly (we cannot process refunds)
- Refund eligibility is determined by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies
4.9 Restoring Purchases
If you reinstall the app or use it on a new device:
- Use the "Restore Purchases" button in the app
- Your subscription status will be verified through Apple/Google
- You must use the same Apple ID or Google account that made the original purchase
4.10 Subscription Sharing
- Subscriptions are personal and non-transferable
- You may not share your subscription access with others
- Account sharing may result in termination of service
5. Acceptable Use
5.1 You Agree NOT to:
- Use the App for any illegal purposes
- Share your account credentials with others
- Attempt to reverse engineer or copy our content
- Use automated systems to access the App
- Redistribute or resell our educational content
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
6. Intellectual Property
All content in the App, including but not limited to:
- Lesson materials and courses
- Audio content and podcasts
- Tools and templates
- Text, graphics, and images
- Software and code
...is owned by Josie or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
7. AI Chat Service
Our AI-powered chat feature is provided "as is" for educational and informational purposes only. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated responses. Professional advice should be sought for critical business decisions.
8. User-Generated Content
Any content you submit through the App (such as chat messages) remains your property, but you grant us a license to use, store, and process this content solely for providing and improving our services.
9. Disclaimers and Limitations
9.1 No Warranty
The App is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted or error-free service
- Results from using the App
- Employment or income outcomes
9.2 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Josie shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
10. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services including:
- Google AI (Gemini) for chat functionality
- Supabase for data storage
- RevenueCat for subscription management
- Cloudflare R2 for media storage
Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
11. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account and access to the App at our sole discretion, without notice, for:
- Violation of these Terms
- Fraudulent or illegal activity
- Non-payment of subscription fees
13. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Philippines, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
